Structure is a site-dependent audio installation that explores a fluid relationship between presence and
absence of carefully organised sound. Using pure audio materials such as sinewaves and noise, an abstract
minimal form is created by calculating and placing considered points of excitation of air pressure within the
space. These points create fluid aural changes in the work, experienced when a listener moves across the
space; the pace of aural changes depends on the listener's pace. When the listener walks and places him
or herself within this absence/null point, he or she is unable to hear any sound.
Structure can be realised as either of two versions, 'Centre' or 'Cross-section'.
