States of Being is a site-specific audio installation.
The work is a series of sound paintings inspired by
the work of Bridget Riley. It explores minimal sound, audio perception and sound movement in a series
of quiet, minimal audio pieces which play on a matrix of twenty loudspeakers. The vertical grid of
loudspeakers is suspended from the ceiling and hidden behind a false cloth wall. Sound painting is
designed to blend into the architecture of the space. The work can be customised to a space; the
perception of the sound paintings is governed by the dimensions of the space.
